Traders selling along the roadside opposite the mutengene market has an Ultimatum of five days to move.

The mayor of Tiko Council HRH Dr Peter Ikome Mesoso III alongside some Council staff on Wednesday July 30, 2025 visited the Mutengene Market.

The visit that was timely with the fact that for months now Traders( those selling fruits) along the road opposite the market had refused to have space inside the market which to the council was danger on the part of the traders and buyers.

Mayor HRH Dr Mesoso III called on the traders selling along the road to move inside the market by given them a deadline of five days if not they will have themselves to be blame.

The mayor told the traders that selling along the road is dangerous as if an accident happened casualties will be many which can rendered some families.

He called on the Technical Service and Town planning team at the council to make sure where the traders will move to in the days ahead should be in good shape.

Mayor HRH Dr Mesoso III added that the motor park in the market should be free and no one should carryout any business activity there as stalls and hangars are available inside the market.

 

Previous A Sensitisation workshop on the new Local Finance law took place on Thursday July 31, 2025 at the Tiko Council.
